Through stories, we learn to be human.

About Me

To my core, I am a storyteller and an explorer. I crave new experiences, and because of this I find myself drawn to work in diverse fields, from fictional prose to films and everything in between.

I started at a young age, growing up in a small town in southern Alberta, looking up at the sky and the not-so-distant Rocky Mountains and dreaming about fantastic adventures and new worlds.

As I grew up, I moved to Calgary to take a Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Calgary, and I dove head first into fiction writing, taking an executive position running the Scribe and Muse English Club’s Writer’s Circle.

During orientation, I found myself in the New University Television studio, and I quickly fell in love with the collaborative, energetic creativity of film and T.V production. Between these two clubs I surrounded myself with like-minded, inspiring people. I found a home in the creative community.

After graduation, I hopped over to SAIT’s film diploma program to get my hands dirty with technical craft. I tried everything, learning the technical details of creating a film to improve and inform my actions as a director. Through this program, I met more inspiring people, many of whom would become close collaborators. While I was there, I began to develop my production company, Dark Sails Films.

I am currently living in the beautiful port city of Vancouver, expanding my company and my portfolio. When I’m not creating my own projects, I work as a Grip in the film industry to keep engaged and connected with the filmmaking community, and continue to learn and develop new skills and techniques.
